The Honourable Baljit Singh Chadha is a successful businessman with significant expertise in international trade, marketing and strategic planning. He is the President and founder of Balcorp Limited, which has varied interests in several sectors. He started Balcorp in 1976 with borrowed capital, subsequently building it into a $100 million venture with offices in Montreal, New Delhi and Mumbai. Baljit graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Bombay University and has a MBA from Concordia University. In 2003, he was appointed for life to the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and for a five-year term to the Security Intelligence Review Committee, which provides an external review of the operations of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). Residing in Montreal, Baljit is also a well-known philanthropist and a prominent figure in the Indo-Canadian community.
